The Saint Padre Pio Institute of Rochester, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization,
established in Rochester, New York to build a chapel to benefit the entire community.
Our Mission Statement is “To promote devotion to St. Padre Pio through the creation
of a chapel and other religious activities related to Padre Pio and the tenants
of the Roman Catholic Church”.
The chapel is located in the Town of Gates off Manitou Road, at 141 Frank DiMino
Way (Marconi Blvd.) The only privately owned chapel dedicated to St. Padre Pio in
New York State was completed and opened on May 25, 2008. Overseeing the building
of the chapel were the Founders of the Saint Padre Pio Institute, Olindo DiFrancesco
and his wife, Filomena. The most unique thing about the chapel is that although
it is privately owned, it is completely open to the public. Filomena refers to the
chapel as “The People’s Chapel”. Everyone is able to visit and make use of this
beautiful facility for their own personal prayer and meditation. The chapel was
built to give the community a place of prayer and reflection and to honor Padre
Pio of Pietrelcina the twenty-first century saint canonized by Pope John Paul II
on June 16, 2002.
"To my Spiritual Children, my prayers for you will never be lacking."
